To Wait for Oneself – On the Perception of Time in Dialogical Acting
Abstrakt: Studie se zabývá polaritami vnímání času v dramatické situaci dialogického jednání a vychází z analýzy polostrukturovaných výzkumných rozhovorů, písemných reflexí a focus groups studentů a studentek dialogického jednání. Tento příspěvek je pokusem zmapovat a ukázat, jak v takovém jednání studentů spolu soupeří na jedné straně čas kairos a na druhé straně čas chronos. Studenti dialogického jednání opakovaně slýchávají doporučení „nespěchat!“. Se stejnou četností poté ve svých reflexích zmiňují, že zpomalit není snadné. Jejich chuť pobývat v přítomnosti, „být ve svém čase“, je narušována zvnitřněnými apely k podávání výkonu, ke snaze pobavit ostatní. Postupně objevují aktivní ne-konání, schopnost ustát momenty neznáma, kdy se nic neděje, aby pak mohlo samo vyvstávat nevídané něco.
Abstract: The paper focuses on the polarities of the perception of time in the dramatic situation of Dialogical Acting. It is based on an analysis of semi-structured research interviews, written reflections and focus groups of students of Dialogical Acting. The article is an attempt to map and show how Chronos and Kairos, different representatives of time, compete with each other during students’ acting. Students of Dialogical Acting are repeatedly advised to ‘take their time!’. In their reflections, they also often reflect on how difficult this task is. Their desire to stay in the present, to ‘be in their own time’, is interrupted by internalised commands to perform, to show some result or to entertain the others. They gradually discover active no-acting – an ability to deal with moments of the unknown when nothing happens, so something unexpected can come out of it.
